Jeanne Johnston

After 20+ years in the private sector, Jeanne went back to school and obtained a Master’s in Public Affairs (concentration on community development and nonprofits). Jeanne first managed grants for a local government where she researched, submitted, and managed federal grants totaling $6 million.  As a successful fundraiser and grant consultant, Jeanne conducted many small to large capital campaigns and economic impact studies for economic development, arts organizations, and cultural institutions, often in small towns and rural locations.

Strategic planning has been necessary for many organizations to become "grant ready", and to establish a roadmap for all staff and board members to follow. Jeanne's community work includes, grant (prospect) research, and writing for community healthcare, justice-involved youth and women, youth leadership programs, faith-based schools, programs for persons diagnosed with developmental disabilities, and human trafficking organizations.Jeanne has also done various programs for rural areas in economic development, broadband, and hospital centers. Jeanne has written, submitted, and been awarded a total of $11 million, and personally implemented over $4 million in awards.

Jeanne's favorite part of her work are the results and relationships,

"I love the impact and the relationships built after working with a nonprofit to transform its mission."

Jeanne is the 6th Grant Professional in North Carolina that has achieved the designation of Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential by the Grant Professionals Certification Institute.
