Grant Research
Researching for all types of private foundation grants is a time-consuming process. Depending on the organization's needs and priorities, the research process can take many hours and weeks.
We want you to FOCUS ON YOUR MISSION, serving your clients, cultivating support and stewarding your donors.

Our first deliverable provides you the potential opportunities by due dates, appropriate request amounts, and other grantees' information. We then provide you with a more in-depth narrative to recap the funder's focus areas and the potential fit for your organization. Next, we give a final recommendation based on knowing your goals and objectives for the next 12-36 months, for preparing the proposals to a prioritized funder. Being Grant Ready!
As a Certified Grant Professional and a Nonprofit Consultant, I often see the challenge for many nonprofits is finding time for developing donor relationships while researching and writing grants. I believe that the development of a fundraising foundation with your donors and a stewardship plan is a top priority. However, becoming grant-ready is the next step for starting a grant program that will add to the revenue stream. With municipalities, it is always a question of time, knowing the preparation required, and the development of the proposal. For nonprofits that desire to be "grant ready", we begin by researching their eligibility, successful programs, and solid donor base for larger foundation grants, which often require the use of outside grant services.
Grant Writing
SFG will conduct the research through our various search databases. We will conduct a grant readiness survey with you to determine what type of grants you would most likely be a good fit, before starting the research effort.
A full grant package will include a LOI (if necessary), research, collection of your organization's key documents, narratives, key data, and research results if needed. Often a logic model is needed or required. Click here for a sample of a logic model.
A timeline of the grant milestones to ensure all necessary signatures, approvals and conversations with the grantor will be executed.
Even when your application is submitted, we will stay in touch for any follow-up or grantor questions. SFG wants to establish ongoing relationships with your organization to ensure you are achieving your results and ultimately your mission! Our success is YOUR success.
Each grant package is priced individually. For a sample of a grant narrative click here.
